Blood Required

Went to the Marsden yesterday, had the usual blood tests and got the results of the B12 tests from the GP. They showed I needed B12 injections and a couple of pints of blood. Today I have been organising this in Portishead, injection appointments are sorted 3 per week for the first 2 weeks then every 3 months. They may be able to teach us how to do them ourselves, not sure yet. Will probably have to go to Bristol for blood transfusion, awaiting further instructions. It's not desperately urgent I'm just running on a low battery until it's done.

Besides that the leg pain is much improved, I'm sleeping better and the pain killing drug regime seems to be doing the trick. I'm trying to do my ankle exercises each day and it is stronger, but it also aches with the exertion of the exercises. I wiah I had realised how weak it was becoming sooner, I think it is going to take a while to get sorted. I'm seeing the physio again later this week.

So it's all now full steam ahead for Frankie's 50th on Saturday. Just off to pack away any breakables which might get in the way.

Speak soon.

Good News

At last the drug is having an effect and the tumour has shrunk. It's still within the parameters of "stable" IE up to -30% but it's shrunk by about 18% roughly. So fingers crossed this will continue and the next visit may see me hit the magic number. So we are very pleased. My leg had been feeling better but we didn't dare to hope. I've been doing my physio exercises pretty religiously and there is an improvement already, long way to go though before it gets back to full strength. The stick is helping me to, it stops me limping so badly and makes me stand up straighter.

Poor Frank has got the flu, he's keeping going but not feeling great. I'm hoping that with all the drugs swimming around in my body the bug will look elsewhere for it's next victim!

We now have 3 weeks off from the hospital !!!!!!!!!!! I think this is the first time since last August, so hopefully we will get away somewhere for a break. I'm quite excited, some time to ourselves, a rare thing. I'm searching the Internet already for a bargain.

Unless something startling happens I won't do an update for a while now, so take care.
