Busy Busy

I've just realised it's two weeks since my update and it's been pretty hectic to say the least. We were asked to complete on the house at short notice on the 18th but refused as we were entitled to 2 weeks notice. So we complete tomorrow, this means we have been spending a lot of time, packing, cleaning, shopping etc in preparation. It also means Frank works very hard at trying to think of other things to do, examples are too many to mention, but he does it even more to wind me up. Why did I want to move again? Another few weeks the stresses and strains will be all forgotten.

I'm waiting to start another round of Chemo probably in about 3 weeks. My hair which has just started to grow quite well is going to fall out again :-( I had to decide this time whether I wanted to try any more Chemo, but as I'm pretty well and fit, I went for it. The hope is that this drug will work this time in managing the tumour, but there are no guarantees, as you've probably realised if you are a regular reader. So it's another 3 lots at 3 week intervals and then a scan to see if anythings happening. I'm having this lot in outpatients, rather than at home, as it only takes about 30mins to administer.

My leg continues to improve, I went to the gym for the first time on Wednesday. I couldn't do my full routine, but it wasn't bad for a first attempt, although after only two weeks I had forgotten my routine and had to get my card out to check what I had been doing before.

Anyway must go, speak soon, lots to do.

Balloon Goes Up

Not strictly speaking!

I've had a stent put into the top of my leg to help with the circulation caused by the tumour pressing on my artery. The tests confirmed that this was the problem and that it would be possible to put a stent in to widen the artery back up. I now have a near normal pulse in my right ankle, which given the Doctor couldn't feel a pulse there when I went in is quite a difference. It feels good, but I've got residual pain from the procedure at the moment. I reckon in a few more days I will be walking pretty normally, which is great news for me and a big boost.

I could talk about the procedure as they don't put you under but I won't, it's a very funny feeling being prodded about with only a local and a TV screen showing your bones and arteries. I couldn't see a thing on there, just as well I wasn't doing it :-), all looked fine to me!

If it works, it will be worth it ten times over.

Next stop Oncology on Wednesday to discuss my new treament plan, which I should be on by the end of the month.

Still not sure about the house, we had a call to say the 18th May, but we've had nothing in writing, so who knows. It won't be long now though, it's looking pretty finished and we have an inspection visit arranged for the 15th. Still packing......

Some Progress

We went to see the Oncologist today and she was surprised my leg had not been treated, so she got on the phone and got the appointment moved forward to 7th/8th May. I cannot restart chemotherapy before the leg work is done so I will return to Oncology on the 16th to discuss next chemo treatment.

Meanwhile our plans to go away at the weekend have been shelved. It also now looks like the house will be ready on the 25th, so we are busy packing.

I like to keep busy :-)
