Sad news.
There is no easy way to deliver bad news, so here goes.
After putting up a damm good fight with cancer, Sheila passed away peacefully in her sleep this morning at the Royal Marsden hospital - Chevallier ward. A combination of the cancer and the drugs she was on meant her kidneys were working overtime and eventually failed. We hoped she would recover, but it was too much to ask. She was pain free, and was in a very deep sleep, so it was a good way to go. Although we were a long way from home she has been surrounded by family and close friends all week, so she knew she was loved. A lot of the staff from the trial ward came through to check on her progress, and wish her luck, thats how popular she was. No one could have predicted how things would turn out, or how dramatically they would spiral downwards. But at least it was relatively quick for her.
I am still struggling to come to terms with what has happened, but I know she would want me to pick up the pieces and carry on. Soon as I sort things out I will publish details on Blog for her send off. Wish me luck. Frank.

Frank, we are going to miss Sheila like mad. The only comfort from losing her is knowing that she's no longer in pain and doesn't have to fight anymore. She was strong and brave to the end and we loved her very much. We also love you lots and are always here for you. The Suttons x
Our thoughts are with you, Frank and Sheila's family at this time.
Your memories of so many good times and even the bad one's will keep you going.
One memory I have of Sheila is, after Angela & Dave's wedding at my boyfriends house (at the time) in the woods, laughing that dirty, infectious laugh, at about 5am in her big fur coat and high heels!
Much love Ceri & Andy Petrie & girls x
I feel numb.
Sheila gave it a really good go. . She was so brave and obviously had great support from those around her.
My sincere sympathies to all her friends and family.

Frank I'm sorry to hear of the sad news. It's trite to say it but I know Sheila was well liked by everyone. She will be sadly missed of course.

Fran, may you find peace in the knowledge that her pain is over. The world will be a dimmer place without Sheila’s smile to light it up. Farewell to that brave lady who fought so hard against this terrible disease that refuses to play by the rules. The end score? Cancer 1 Shelia 10,576. She should have won, but a higher power than us called her up. Sheila will always be missed, but she will never be forgotten.
No-one could hsve fought harder than Sheila. I'm going to miss her friendship, laughter, caring smile, but most of all her knowing look......! God bless you Sheila and "keep smiling" Frankie. She'd want that.
